Who’s behind the camera?

My name is Jack Cahill. I’m a 25-year-old digital creator based in Melbourne, Australia.

I’m currently completing my final year of a Bachelor’s in Film, Television and Animation at Deakin University and work as a Video Producer at St Kilda Football Club, working across both AFL and AFLW programs.

Previously, I’ve been credited as 1st A.C. and Assistant Editor on SIDELINED: The Fight for Equality in Women’s Basketball, a docuseries following the Deakin Melbourne Boomers across their 2021-22 season. The series streamed on Kayo Sports.

I’ve worked as a Cinematographer on a short film, Hole in the Wall, a psychological thriller. Where I worked closely with the director to develop the look of the film from the ground up, and delegate tasks on set with my assistants.

Additionally, I’ve worked with Footlocker, Summer Jam, Deakin Melbourne Boomers and Bunnings Warehouse.

My love of film began from watching ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy on repeat when I was younger. I spent entire summer holidays in awe at the creative craftsmanship, care, collaboration and dedication by those who helped create such an iconic film trilogy. These hallmarks inspired me to pursue a career in digital creating, and I aim to bring these same attributes to all projects I work on.
